This week we install a SMX LASER 1624 at Promotions Elka and they show us some stunning promotionnal items like this medal for the Festival MAGH of Trois-Rivières.

I found their ideas so great that I have designed a SMX CNC medals for promoting SMX CNC and SMX LASER and work with Francis to cut 48 medals in plexi glass using SMX LASER 2436.

Together, we quickly made 3 samples and check wich one was the most visual impact. After, consulting with all the staff we decided to go with design number 3.

Francis tell me that I forgot to put the website and the phone number of SignMAX enterprise. Luckily we where at the design phase, so I make some changes to the final design and created one final sample.

Once the final result was approved by everyone, we use WinPCSIGN to apply the cutting path color in red and the engraving path color in blue. We then use the multiple copy fonction to create 48 samples on the cutting page. Than, we export the project in RDWorks, setup the cutting path speed and power and setup the engraving path speed and power.

After saving the production file on a usb key we where ready to launch the production of our 48 medals. During the cutting process we had to stop the laser 1 time and we find out that when we restart the cutting process the laser restart exactly where it stop, what a time saver!

The overall process took us 3 hours and 30 minutes wich gave us an average of 8 minutes by pieces.
